Jubilees, Chapter 50
The angel tells Moshe of the Shabbatot of the land and the jubilees to come until Yisrael is cleansed and dwells safely in the land, then gives the laws of the Shabbat day, a holy day of rest and blessing, and so completes the account of the division of the days.
50:1And after this law I made known to you the days of the Shabbatot in the desert of Sin, which is between Eilim (Elim) and Sinai.

50:2And I told you of the Shabbatot of the land on Mount Sinai, and I told you of the jubilee years in the Shabbatot of years: but the year thereof have I not told you till you enter the land which you are to possess.

50:4Therefore I have ordained for you the year-weeks and the years and the jubilees: there are forty-nine jubilees from the days of Adam until this day, and one week and two years: and there are yet forty years to come for learning the commandments of Hashem, until they pass over into the land of Kena’an (Canaan), crossing the Yarden (Jordan) to the west.

- English translation
- R. H. Charles, The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament (Oxford, 1913), public domain, lightly modernized by Benei Avraham in the same way as our Bible pages: “thee/thou” become “you,” older verb forms are updated, people and places carry their Hebrew names with the familiar English name in parentheses the first time on each page, and “the Lord” (God) is written “Hashem.” Charles’s editorial dates are given in the notes. Digital text from the CrossWire Bible Society’s SWORD module (public domain).
- Spanish translation
- Translated by Benei Avraham from the English column, in the style of our Reina-Valera pages: Hashem for the Divine Name, Elohim for God, and Hebrew names. There is no public-domain Spanish translation of this book. Choose a translation with the Language drop-down; the choice is remembered on this device.
- Ge’ez text
- Ge’ez (classical Ethiopic) is the language of the Ethiopian Bible and the only language in which the whole book has survived; it was translated from Greek, which was translated from the lost Hebrew original. The text is August Dillmann’s edition (19th century, public domain) as published in the EOTCOpenSource Bible dataset. Verse numbers follow Charles; where Dillmann’s numbering joins two verses, the later verse says so.
