John, Chapter 21
The risen Yeshua shows Himself to seven disciples at the sea of Tiberias, fills their net with a hundred and fifty-three fish, and gives them breakfast on the shore. He asks Shim’on Peter three times whether he loves Him, tells him to feed His sheep, and speaks of the beloved disciple.
21:1After these things Yeshua (Jesus) showed Himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise showed He Himself.
21:2There were together Shim’on (Simon) Peter, and Toma (Thomas) called Didymus, and Netan’el (Nathanael) of Kanah (Cana) in Galil (Galilee), and the sons of Zavdai (Zebedee), and two other of His disciples.
21:3Shim’on Peter says unto them, “I go a fishing.” They say unto him, “We also go with you.” They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
21:4But when the morning was now come, Yeshua stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Yeshua.
21:5Then Yeshua says unto them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.”
21:6And He said unto them, “Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and you shall find.” They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
21:7Therefore that disciple whom Yeshua loved says unto Peter, “It is the Master.” Now when Shim’on Peter heard that it was the Master, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
21:8And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
21:9As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
21:10Yeshua says unto them, “Bring of the fish which you have now caught.”
21:11Shim’on Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
21:12Yeshua says unto them, “Come and dine.” And none of the disciples durst ask Him, “Who are You?” knowing that it was the Master.
21:13Yeshua then comes, and takes bread, and gives them, and fish likewise.
21:14This is now the third time that Yeshua showed Himself to His disciples, after that He was risen from the dead.
21:15So when they had dined, Yeshua says to Shim’on Peter, “Shim’on, son of Yonah (Jonas), do you love Me more than these?” He says unto Him, “Yea, Master; You know that I love You.” He says unto him, “Feed My lambs.”
21:16He says to him again the second time, “Shim’on, son of Yonah, do you love Me?” He says unto Him, “Yea, Master; You know that I love You.” He says unto him, “Feed My sheep.”
21:17He says unto him the third time, “Shim’on, son of Yonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said unto him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said unto Him, “Master, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Yeshua says unto him, “Feed My sheep.
21:18Truly, truly, I say unto you, When you were young, you girded yourself, and walked whither you would: but when you shall be old, you shall stretch forth your hands, and another shall gird you, and carry you whither you would not.”
21:19This spoke He, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He says unto him, “Follow Me.”
21:20Then Peter, turning about, sees the disciple whom Yeshua loved following; which also leaned on His breast at supper, and said, “Master, which is he that betrays You?”
ἐπιστραφεὶς δὲ ὁ Πέτρος βλέπει τὸν μαθητὴν ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀκολουθοῦντα, ὃς καὶ ἀνέπεσεν ἐν τῷ δείπνῳ ἐπὶ τὸ στῆθος αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπε, Κύριε, τίς ἐστιν ὁ παραδιδούς σε;
21:21Peter seeing him says to Yeshua, “Master, and what shall this man do?”
τοῦτον ἰδὼν ὁ Πέτρος λέγει τῷ Ἰησοῦ, Κύριε, οὗτος δὲ τί;
21:22Yeshua says unto him, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? you follow Me.”
21:23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Yeshua said not unto him, “He shall not die;” but, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you?”
ἐξῆλθεν οὖν ὁ λόγος οὗτος εἰς τοὺς ἀδελφούς, ὅτι ὁ μαθητὴς ἐκεῖνος οὐκ ἀποθνῄσκει· καὶ οὐκ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ὅτι οὐκ ἀποθνήσκει· ἀλλ’, Ἐὰν αὐτὸν θέλω μένειν ἕως ἔρχομαι, τί πρός σε;
21:24This is the disciple which testifies of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
21:25And there are also many other things which Yeshua did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

- English translation
- The King James Version (public domain), lightly modernized by Benei Avraham: “thee/thou/ye” become “you,” older verb forms are updated, and archaic words are replaced only where the meaning would otherwise be unclear. People and places with Hebrew names carry them, with the King James spelling in parentheses the first time on each page (e.g., Yeshua (Jesus)); Greek and Roman names keep their English form. Christ is “Messiah”; Lord, used of Yeshua, is “Master”; where the Greek has Kyrios for God, the English keeps “the Lord.” “Church” is “congregation,” “baptize” is “immerse,” and the Holy Ghost is “the Holy Spirit.”
