Haftarah
The fourth of the seven haftarot of consolation: “I, even I, am He that comforts you” (51:12), and “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that proclaims peace … that says unto Tziyon, ‘Your God reigns!’” (52:7). All communities read this haftarah.
51:12“I, even I, am He that comforts you; who are you, that you should be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass;
51:12«Yo, yo soy vuestro consolador.

Sources & method
- Hebrew text
- The Masoretic text with vowels (nikkud) and cantillation marks (ta’amim): the Westminster Leningrad Codex, from the open-source Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible. Where the written text (ketiv) differs from the reading (qere), the reading is shown and the written form follows in small type.
- English translation
- The King James Version (public domain), lightly modernized by Benei Avraham: “thee/thou/ye” become “you,” older verb forms are updated (“hath” to “has,” “begat” to “begot”), and archaic words are replaced only where the meaning would otherwise be unclear. People and places carry their Hebrew names, with the familiar English name in parentheses the first time (e.g., Moshe (Moses)). The Divine Name (יהוה, “the LORD” in the KJV) is written “Hashem”; “God” (Elohim) is unchanged. Verse numbers follow the Hebrew Bible.
