At Shabbat Minchah on Shabbat Vayigash, and on Monday and Thursday mornings, this first portion of Vayechi is read in three aliyot: 47:28–31, 48:1–3 and 48:4–9.

47:28And Yaakov (Jacob) lived in the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt) seventeen years; so the days of Yaakov, the years of his life, were a hundred and forty and seven years.

Vayeḥi Ya'akov be'eretz Mitzrayim sheva esreh shanah vayehi yemei-Ya'akov shenei ḥayav sheva shanim ve'arba'im ume'at shanah.

47:29And the time drew near that Yisrael (Israel) must die; and he called his son Yosef (Joseph), and said unto him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me: do not bury me, I pray you, in Mitzrayim;

Ashkenazi and Sephardic communities read the same haftarah. As “the time drew near that Yisrael must die” and he blessed his sons (Genesis 47:29), so “the days of David drew near that he should die” (2:1), and he charged Shlomo his son to walk in the ways of Hashem (2:3).

Sources & method

Hebrew text
The Masoretic text with vowels (nikkud) and cantillation marks (ta’amim), as published on Chabad.org. Every verse was checked character by character against Chabad’s Tanakh. Where the written text (ketiv) differs from the reading (qere), the reading is shown and the written form follows in small type.
English translation
The King James Version (public domain), lightly modernized by Benei Avraham: “thee/thou/ye” become “you,” older verb forms are updated (“hath” to “has,” “begat” to “begot”), and archaic words are replaced only where the meaning would otherwise be unclear. People and places carry their Hebrew names, with the familiar English name in parentheses the first time (e.g., Efrayim (Ephraim)). The Divine Name (יהוה, “the LORD” in the KJV) is written “Hashem”; “God” (Elohim) is unchanged. Verse numbers follow the Hebrew Bible.
Transliteration
Produced from the Hebrew with the open-source hebrew-transliteration library, adapted to Sephardic/Israeli pronunciation and reviewed by hand: ḥ for Chet and Chaf, tz for Tzadi, k for Kuf, and the Divine Name read “Adonai.” Names are capitalized.
Aliyot & haftarot
Portion divisions and haftarah readings follow the standard Jewish calendar outside Israel, cross-checked with Chabad.org and Hebcal. Ashkenazi and Sephardic haftarah customs are both shown.
