Come and join us! We are a growing Jewish community in Desoto, TX, South of Dallas, near Grand Prairie, Lancaster, Cedar Hill, Arlington, Red Oak, and Waxahachie.
Our Shabbat services and holiday services are traditional. We study Torah, Tenakh, Brit Hadashah, Talmud, and other Jewish writings. Our beliefs are in harmony with Orthodox Judaism, even in our belief in Yeshua as Mashiach ben Yosef. Our members and visitors are of all ages and ethinic backgrounds, and include families with small children, youth, young adults, and seniors, born-Jews and Jews-by-choice. We are open to people of all faiths and backgrounds who are interested in learning more. We would love to meet you and your family on Shabbat!

What do we do on Shabbat?
Right before sunset on Fridays, we welcome Erev Shabbat as we sing songs and say the traditional prayers and blessings for family members for Kabbalat Shabbat (Receiving the Sabbath). Then we enjoy some dinner and fellowship. (Click here for Shabbat times)
On Saturday / Shabbat mornings at 11:30 am, we do the traditional Shacharit prayers and read from our Torah scroll in Hebrew, read the whole portion in English, and also have an often lively discussion over it from a Messianic Jewish perspective.
After that we have lunch, learn some Biblical Hebrew, and enjoy Shabbat together!
On Saturday evenings after sunset, we read the Brit Hadashah, sing some more songs, and do the traditional Havdalah ceremony and blessings to end Shabbat, refreshed and ready for a new week.
On Jewish holidays, we hold traditional services like the Shofar blowing for Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre for Yom Kippur, Sukkot & Simchat Torah, Passover Seder, Shavuot All-Night Torah Study, and also Hanukkah menorah lighting, and a Purim Party!
Here’s what some members and guests say about Benei Avraham, Messianic Jewish congregation:
“We love being here because we want to be where we can freely practice Torah Judaism and believe in Yeshua at the same time, with others who are like-minded. Most Messianic Jewish congregations are too Christian and don’t really believe in keeping Torah. The Hebrew Roots groups have little respect for Judaism or Jews even though our people have been successfully keeping Torah for thousands of years. And sadly, Jewish synagogues will reject you if they know you believe in Yeshua.”
“I love you guys. Hashem has healed me and blessed me through you. I want to adopt you as my family.”
“I feel like we really learn when we come here because we get to read and discuss the Torah portion. We have some really lively discussions. It’s more like a Bible Study.”
“I like coming here because I can talk openly about where I’m at spiritually and people aren’t judgmental.””
“I’ve had a bad experience with church and religion. When I go here I feel hope that there are people who are religious, good, rational, and not fanatic. People who come here are on different levels of faith and observance but no one is judged.”
“It’s very relaxing to actually not have to drive and just hang out all day on Shabbat really rest.”
“Sometimes I have other things to do or invitations for Shabbat, so I can’t come every week, but my heart is here, this is where I want to be on Shabbat.”
